Subject: [WVFPD] 2014 Chipping Program

Hello WVFPD Residents,

Just a quick reminder that CSFD will be running its chipping program again
this year. Pine Creek / Thunderbird starts October 13 and Woodmen Valley
starts October 27. This is a FREE service and all WVFPD residents may
participate, but you MUST sign up first. To register, call Amy Sylvester at
(719)385-7342 or email her at asylvester at springsgov.com. Be sure to give
your name, address and phone. For more information, please see
http://springsgov.com/Page.aspx?NavID=3374.

Your slash piles must be within five feet from the road and cannot be larger
than 5'x5'x5'. Only normal pine and oak is accepted. No fenceposts, lumber,
etc. Please ensure there the slash does not contain nails, rocks or wire.
These could be extremely dangerous for the crews.
For more information on stacking your slash, please see
http://springsgov.com/Files/Chipping%20Flier.pdf.

Have you scheduled your FREE Fire Mitigation Assessment? CSFD will come out
and walk your property with you. They will make recommendations on how your
can better protect your property from wild fires. If you're having a problem
with your insurance company, they will even issue their assessment on their
letterhead to help you make your case. To schedule your assessment, call
Amy Sylvester at (719)385-7342 or email her at asylvester at springsgov.com.
Be sure to give your name, address and phone.

For more information on WVFPD's Fire Mitigation efforts, please contact our
Fire Mitigation Coordinator, Kathie Walker at kathie at wvfpd.org. And thanks
again for your outstanding efforts.
